Three years of pain and exposure to a superior and highly racist enemy. One does not find words that evoke less sorrow regarding what is happening in this genocide, which does not stop and that the fascist right-wing society does not want to stop. This was expressed with delight by an Israeli settler in the early weeks of the war, saying: “Here we are killing hundreds and then thousands of Palestinians without anything happening, and without paying any significant political price.”
Later, the International Court of Justice issued a condemnation of this war, calling for its cessation, while the International Criminal Court went further by ordering the arrest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant. Both Bolivia and Nicaragua cut their relations with Tel Aviv, as did Belize, while Colombia followed suit before restoring these relations after the presidential elections. Other countries, including South Africa, Chile, Jordan, Honduras, and Bahrain, decided to withdraw their ambassadors, and Turkey severed its trade relations with Tel Aviv. However, the extremist right-wing ruling in Tel Aviv, showing its displeasure with these punitive measures, considered its dream of the disappearance of Palestinians more important than its relations with various countries, continuing its war on the Gaza Strip and moving to war against the people of the West Bank without the occurrence of "October 7" or anything similar. The global preoccupation with the ongoing war in Ukraine, the two continuous wars in Iran, the outbreak of war in Sudan, and the US-China competition over arms, trade, and the development of artificial intelligence, led to a distraction from the daily crimes committed by Netanyahu's government, which combine savagery and blind displays of power.
This exposure pertains to the international community that has not yet seen genocide as a threat to international peace and security, allowing relations with the perpetrator of genocide to be maintained, revealing the weakness of the Arab political system which, to some extent, witnesses solidarity among its states, yet this solidarity barely involves the brotherly peoples.
While the previous US administration supported the genocide with sweet calls to reduce civilian casualties, the current Donald Trump administration sought to achieve a settlement that rewards Netanyahu's government for its actions, concluding a ceasefire while overlooking Israel's violations of the agreement. This administration then followed up its efforts with a twenty-point plan and the establishment of a “Peace Council” involving 27 countries. Netanyahu's government did not cease its push for ethnic cleansing, withholding aid, water, and medicine, without the slightest consideration for the establishment of the Peace Council, despite Netanyahu himself being appointed a war criminal among the main leaders of this council. Ultimately, Trump himself, along with his administration's leaders, seems to ignore the existence of this council, turning a blind eye to Netanyahu's and his government's disdain for what was announced in grand media fanfare. While former President Joe Biden exhibited a behavior indicative of his declared Zionism regarding the war, Trump displayed not only an unconditional bias towards the occupying state but also a considerable degree of racism in his view of these horrific developments, as he paid no heed to the fall of nearly 1,400 victims after the announcement of the ceasefire under his plan, as the lives of Palestinians (in his extraordinary president's view) are unimportant, to the extent that he repeatedly used the term Palestinian as an insult when addressing some of his local opponents.
Thus, the master of the White House succeeded in making his council for peace a venue for strategic deception, without hesitation in deceiving the 27 countries that participated in the council's bodies, as he allowed the continuation of bloodshed and the destruction of the resources of life and its manifestations. When he and his aides succeeded weeks ago in persuading factions in Gaza to lay down their arms, he considered this a historic achievement, yet his friend and ally in Tel Aviv did not hesitate to belittle this achievement, continuing to spill blood without interruption, without this powerful president Trump being troubled, taking a stance towards Netanyahu that their Israeli friends are free to do what they want. Thus, the responsibility of the superpower in establishing security and peace and respecting human dignity in our world is revealed.
Of course, we look here at the half-empty cup… without stopping at the manifestations of solidarity expressed by successive waves in the streets of America and Europe, which included demonstrations by American Jews and various expressions of condemnation of the war and solidarity with the victims expressed by parliamentarians, politicians, artists, journalists, and athletes through various means of communication, as well as a wave of recognition of the Palestinian state, and the principled and courageous stances taken by UN officials over the past three years. However, the half-empty cup is not truly empty; it is in reality filled with the blood of children and mothers and their tears, which is difficult to describe. The great crime does not cease its chapters until it can be viewed from the outside and described. At this time, anyone who has the patience to follow Palestinian political news, whether related to the authority or factions, will find little difficulty in noticing that stopping the catastrophe in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank does not have absolute priority in the concerns and activities of the political body, as everyone is preoccupied either with what is called national dialogue to arrange the house—a perpetual dialogue—or preparing for elections that will not occur in the foreseeable future due to Israeli rejection of the establishment of a semi-normal life, as the outspoken in Tel Aviv consider the survival of the subjugated under occupation as a problem that must be dealt with. While the people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank face overt threats to their existence and lives, associated with crimes committed by the occupation authorities, these existential challenges do not represent a focal point of concern for the Palestinian political body, despite it becoming clear as the sun in August that efforts to liquidate the Palestinian cause have shifted to “efforts” for the material liquidation of the people. It is not required, in light of this, for the numerous life activities to cease, or for the focus on protecting the administrative, authoritative, and factional structures to end; however, this represents part of the struggle for survival, while the broader and essential battle must revolve around the collective right to life and the preservation of its resources and reasons, as there is no meaning to organizing the house or preparing for elections unless this occurs in the context of political mobilization against the threat of genocide and the drying up of the resources of life.
