The Federal Integrity Authority announced today, Sunday, the issuance of a severe prison sentence of four years against the Deputy Director of Real Estate Registration in Tikrit and another employee of the directorate; for deliberately breaching their job duties in the process of transferring the ownership of a property.
The authority stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that "the Salahuddin Criminal Court issued an in-person judgment of severe imprisonment for four years against the Deputy Director of Real Estate Registration in Tikrit and an employee from the same directorate, following their violations in the process of transferring ownership of a property in Tikrit."
It added that the violations consisted of completing the procedures for transferring the ownership of the property without attaching the required documents from the sellers and buyers, not taking the fingerprints of all sellers, in addition to the absence of security approvals and formal powers of attorney, and not marking the reservations at the Real Estate Registration Directorate in Salahuddin, contrary to the provisions of the Real Estate Registration Law.
The authority clarified that the court, after reviewing the evidence obtained in the case, concluded the culpability of the convicted individuals and issued its ruling based on the provisions of Article (330) of the Penal Code, complemented by the articles on complicity, for the crime of deliberately breaching job duties.
It pointed out that the decision included preserving the right of the affected parties to claim compensation before the civil courts after the judgment becomes final.
