Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly speaker Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf mocked U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pessen's remarks on the possibility of oil prices dropping to $40 and managing expectations in the energy market.

Ghalibaf stated in a post reviewed by the News Video Agency that the American official's comments reflect unrealistic fantasies, describing them as an attempt to leap and fall freely without proper preparation.

He emphasized that the U.S. economy is facing structural challenges and accumulated crises, pointing out that gasoline prices in the United States have reached record levels, along with massive sales of U.S. bonds by Japan and Norway, as well as warnings from the Federal Reserve regarding inflation and rising interest rates.
