Today, Sunday, the second festival of rice and agricultural and household products kicked off in the city of Harir in Erbil Governorate, under the slogan of supporting local production and revitalizing the agricultural and tourism economy, with the participation of government officials, farmers, and local entrepreneurs.
Erbil Governor, Oumid Khushnaw, stated in a statement to the Video News Agency that the government attaches great importance to developing the agricultural sector and supporting farmers, noting that the Harir plain is considered one of the most fertile areas.
He added that the festival, which will last for three days in Harir Park, includes various pavilions displaying local and natural products, traditional handicrafts, as well as authentic Kurdish foods offered by farmers and entrepreneurs from the region.
Khushnaw confirmed that the festival is expected to attract thousands of tourists and shoppers from various cities in the Kurdistan region and provinces of Iraq, pointing to its importance in creating direct markets for marketing agricultural products, supporting farmers, and boosting rural tourism in the area.
