Iranian authorities reported today, Sunday, that one person was martyred and three others were injured as a result of an attack targeting an Iranian commercial ship near Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Governor of Qeshm Island, Hussein Amir Taimouri, stated in remarks broadcast by Iranian state television, which were followed by the News Video Agency, that the ship was attacked during the morning hours off the coast of Shib Deraz on the island, resulting in one death and three injuries.
The incident comes amid ongoing security tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important global maritime routes for oil and gas exports, amidst the repercussions of confrontations between Iran, the United States, and Israel.
