Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi directed today, Sunday, the Ministry of Oil to implement government plans related to increasing oil production and boosting revenues, emphasizing that the government has adopted a series of important measures and steps in this area as Iraq is one of the countries affected by the events occurring in the region.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that Al-Zaydi visited the Ministry of Oil headquarters in the capital, Baghdad, and chaired a meeting with the ministry's senior staff, attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, and the Ministers of Oil and Electricity, as well as the Chairman of the Advisors Committee and several advisors in the field of energy.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts being made by the ministry's workers, stressing the need to continue working diligently and with high responsibility to achieve the planned goals.
Al-Zaydi emphasized the need to overcome past mistakes and address cases of negligence, noting his directives to the Integrity Commission to monitor cases of corruption that led to delays and missed opportunities for the development of this sector, and indicating that the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs will be tasked with overseeing the work of the Ministry of Oil and the production and export file.
