The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh al-Zaydi approved today, Saturday, the Iranian side's request for a joint investigation regarding the discovery of drone launch pads near the border between the two countries.

The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Naeeman, stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the approval was given to clarify the details and circumstances related to the presence of these launch pads near the border.

The Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaydi, also directed today, Saturday, to dismiss the police chief of Maysan province from his position, in light of the recent security breaches and drone attacks that targeted oil facilities in Saudi Arabia.

The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Sabah al-Naeeman, stated that al-Zaydi also ordered the transfer of the directors of the security agencies in the province to the command and referred them for investigation, in light of the security breaches witnessed in Maysan.
This decision comes following the announcement by Saudi Arabia of an attack on the "East-West" pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina areas by drones that were said to have come from Iraq, resulting in injuries and material damages.

The Prime Minister had previously directed the dismissal of the Maysan Operations Commander from his position and the formation of an investigative council regarding the operations command, after it was confirmed that the attacks originated from a location within the province.
