Islamic Consultative Assembly Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf emphasized that Iran will not allow the enemy's illusions to slow down the pulse of life, production, and science in the country, stressing that the ongoing movement in schools is a manifestation of the enemy's failed strategy to portray the situation as one of stagnation.
In his speech prior to the commencement of the public session of the Assembly today, Sunday, he stated, "We have proven over the past seven months that we are not idle in the face of aggression, and that our logic in dealing with the enemy is based on smart advancement and imposing the will of the Iranian people."
Regarding the resilience of the Iranian people during the Sacred Defense period (the war waged by the fallen Ba'athist regime of Saddam against the Islamic Republic of Iran from 1980 to 1988), Qalibaf added: If the battlefront yesterday was limited to geographical borders, today’s defense has taken a more flexible and deeper form. September 22, 1980, marked the beginning of an unjust attack on Iran, which had just freed itself from the tyranny of the fallen Pahlavi regime; however, the imposed war could not paralyze the movement of the country. Instead, the resistance of the people during eight years of sacred defense sparked our self-reliance and steadfast independence over the past four decades and brought the country closer to achieving the lofty goals of the Islamic Revolution.
The Speaker of the Assembly reminded that we are today repeating the same historical experience, with the difference that the resistance of the Iranian people not only guarantees the security of the country but will also contribute to building a new regional and global system that opens broad horizons in economic and strategic fields. He confirmed that this historical resilience, which helped build a strong Iran during the 1980s, will now drive it toward a new level of strength and prosperity.
Qalibaf stressed that our positions today on the diplomatic stage are completely clear, rational, and non-negotiable. He stated: Messages and our conditions have been clearly conveyed to the other side through intermediaries, and the enemy is well aware that the path of deception and imposing unilateral conditions is closed. Unless these conditions are met, the legitimate rights of the Iranian people are recognized, and American commitments are fulfilled, there will be no window for returning to the previous negotiation conditions or reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
He emphasized: The old American system in West Asia has collapsed, and the countries of the region must work towards establishing a new system.
Qalibaf added: We, as Islamic countries, relying on the historical will of the peoples and the management of brave leaders in the field, and with hope for the generation that sits today in classrooms in schools, religious seminaries, and universities, will prove that the path to the future will not be drawn through begging but through rationality, courage, and struggle.
