Sharp public questions about the role of the concerned authorities in curbing the rise in school equipment prices.

Popular reactions in the capital Baghdad continued, demanding an end to the rise in the prices of stationery and school supplies resulting from the fluctuations in foreign currency prices as the new school year approaches.

A citizen told the news agency that low-income families are struggling to meet their children's school needs, calling on the government and the Ministry of Education to establish supported trade fairs similar to neighboring countries to compete with local markets and provide goods at reasonable prices to alleviate financial burdens.

On his part, civil activist Ali Al-Mamouri emphasized the need to review the mechanism for providing books and stationery, questioning the reasons for relying on private printing houses instead of government ones to supply students with necessary materials for free. 

Al-Mamouri confirmed that the costs of supplies and clothing have become overwhelming for poor and bankrupt families with several children in schools and universities, expressing hope for serious steps to be taken by the ministry to limit this financial drain.
