Al-Zaydi directs support for research centers to confront economic challenges.

The Prime Minister, Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi, discussed today, Sunday, with a select group of heads of research and studies centers in Iraq the current work of these centers, their role, and the mechanisms to enhance the benefit from their outputs and studies to shape public policies and support decision-making.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that Al-Zaydi welcomed the heads of the centers and emphasized the importance of the role played by think tanks and research centers, stressing the government’s support for them and developing communication channels with state institutions to expand their contribution in addressing the issues and challenges facing the state and society.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister spoke about the paths of Iraqi foreign policy and the government's plans regarding politics, security, and the economy, confirming that Iraq is working to stabilize the situation in the region based on its regional responsibility and aims to build long-term economic development partnerships, indicating that the country faces exceptional challenges in light of the repercussions of the war in the region and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, while continuing to support the private sector, establish a development fund, and implement the one million housing plot project.

Meanwhile, the heads of the research centers presented a collection of visions, ideas, and proposals regarding the economic and political aspects, foreign relations, and the mechanisms for developing communication and cooperation between government institutions and research centers.
