The last day of the Russian Duma elections.. Voter turnout reaches 45%

The turnout for the State Duma elections in Russia reached 45% by 7:35 AM Moscow time today, according to data from the Central Election Commission website in Russia.

Official information indicated that nearly 6 million voters voted online in this election, with a participation rate of 82% among those who chose this voting method. Remote electronic voting is used in 33 out of 89 federal entities of Russia.

The website monitoring the remote electronic voting reported that over 2.8 million voters participated in this type of voting in Moscow over two days, including about 100,000 voters last night, according to Vadim Kovaliev, head of the Moscow City Election Monitoring Authority.

Kovaliev confirmed that the remote electronic voting system in Moscow is facing widespread cyberattacks, describing them as serious.

The Moscow City Election Monitoring Authority stated in a telegram this morning that the turnout for the State Duma elections in the city reached 40.2% after a total of 3.2 million voters cast their votes.

Polling stations opened their doors to Russian citizens in many countries, including Arab countries, to enable them to participate in the State Duma elections.

The State Duma elections for its ninth term and other elections taking place simultaneously started on September 18 and voting continues for three days until 8 PM today, Sunday. The Central Election Commission stated that preliminary voting results will be announced within a few hours after the polling stations close.
