Car owners of the "marked" vehicles are appealing to the government to overturn decision 102, describing it as unjust.

Thousands of citizens who imported cars known as (the Hadeedah Al-Ma'layah or the Marmuzah) have requested to overturn the Cabinet decision numbered 102 regarding the importation of cars.

The citizens confirmed to the News Video Agency that they imported the cars legally and that they were admitted through Iraqi ports, having paid customs duties on them.

One citizen explained that "the Customs Directorate confirmed to them that their processes were legal and they would receive their cars. However, they were surprised to find that the customs fees exceeded ten million dinars, while the value of the imported Marmuzah is not more than two thousand dollars, or equivalent to three or four million dinars."

Citizens have called on the Prime Minister to consider their plight regarding their properties and businesses, pointing out that most importers are ordinary people who live on their daily earnings...
