The National Approach parliamentary bloc warned on Sunday of the serious repercussions of the crises affecting the productive and economic sectors in Iraq, confirming that the rise in fuel prices directly impacts the living conditions of citizens.
The deputy from the National Approach bloc, Enam Alaa Al-Din, stated during a press conference attended by several bloc members, which was followed by the "News Video Agency," that "the serious repercussions and crises affecting the productive and economic sectors in the country reflect on the living conditions of the citizen."
She added that "the agricultural sector is currently facing difficult conditions, including a crisis of rising diesel prices, delays in disbursing its financial entitlements, and a water crisis."
Alaa Al-Din warned of the dangers of the decision to adjust fuel prices, stating that "removing subsidies on black oil and fuel affects the citizen," pointing out that "these derivatives benefit factories and industries, and raising fuel prices directly impacts the increase in construction materials and other goods."
She called on the government to "secure diesel for the industrial and agricultural sectors in supported quantities and to establish a precise mechanism to protect productivity," confirming the bloc's support for "agricultural reform."
Baghdad and several Iraqi provinces, along with the Kurdistan region, are experiencing a renewed fuel crisis, evident in long queues in front of stations and citizens waiting for hours to obtain their needs.
