The first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, called on the Ministry of Oil today, Sunday, to take practical measures to end the fuel crisis and reconsider prices that have burdened citizens and disrupted the economy.

The media office of the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a report reviewed by the News Video Agency that Fayhan directed during the parliamentary session dedicated to discussing the local fuel crisis and government measures a series of questions to the Minister of Oil and the senior staff regarding the volume of production of local refineries of gasoline and the timeframe for using the stock after the announcement of achieving self-sufficiency in 2025.

He added that Fayhan questioned the measures taken to benefit from tens of millions of liters produced locally during the previous agent's tenure, and the reasons for the ministry's lack of a clear plan to provide a special budget based on a percentage of its revenues, as it contributes more than 95% of the public budget resources.

The first deputy emphasized, according to the statement, the necessity of providing accurate figures and data that determine the reasons for the crisis and a timeframe for its resolution, affirming that the continued standing of citizens in long lines to obtain gasoline is unacceptable, while refraining from burdening farmers with the price pressures that were a primary reason for the crisis.
