Message from the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution, Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei, addressed to the elites and medalists in science and sports.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

These days, according to one of the narrations, we mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Lady of the Women of Paradise, the purest and most chaste Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her). It is strange that the date of her martyrdom remains unknown, just as the place of burial of that divine light remains hidden, and her rank and status, in their elevated degrees, remain unknown and beyond human comprehension. She is an exemplary figure in worship, servitude, and submission to Allah; a supreme model in her close and comprehensive association with the Messenger of Allah, in defending the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon both of them and their family), in seeking knowledge and education, realizing the requirements of the moment, rising to support the truth, and steadfastness and clarification; she is also a model from the front line in patience, sacrifice, altruism, and selfless service, and in social solidarity. Additionally, she serves as a role model in marriage and motherhood, in raising children and the lineage of the pure Imams (peace be upon them), the leaders of humanity; she is also an exemplar in striving and working, in jihad and purity, adorned with virtues, piety, luminosity, and spirituality; in a word, she is a model for all believing women and men.

Among the bright virtues of the Fatimid community is that it outlines a roadmap for the revolutionary and Muslim Iranian people towards major social movements, and for their presence in fields and arenas of struggle and jihad and popular movements, and even for the will to progress in various scientific domains and humble service unmarred by ulterior motives.

Our dear Iran, at this stage, is more than ever a manifestation of will and hope, and there is an irreplaceable role for the talented and capable Iranian elites and youth in solidifying this hope, achieving progress, and advancing along the path to a bright future; however, the scope of elitism is not limited to the fields of science and technology or sports and various skills; any positive and required distinction can be considered a representation of elitism. We witness these days the emergence of elitism in a select group of the children of this country who strive, with a wide perspective, to elevate the flag of their sacred homeland. These are the elites of insight and jihad. We regard figures like "Rezaali Khajavi" and "Ali Lendi" as the elites whose names should be inscribed on the facades of cultural centers. Among the cream of society in this regard are the martyrs and the self-sacrificing who have left, by giving their lives and health, a profound impact on the fate of Islamic Iran and its dear people, and have earned the medal of servitude from the One and Only Creator.

To begin with, I seize this opportunity to congratulate all the people of our dear nation, and each one of the creators of these achievements, on securing various medals and honors and scientific accomplishments in the Olympiads of astronomy, astrophysics, mathematics, earth sciences, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, artificial intelligence, humanities, and also on the recent various sports achievements, and I express my appreciation and pride in the determination of the pioneers of the caravan of pride and hope, and their will; the flag bearers of the country's advancement from various groups of elites, from the youth and young people to the coaches, teachers, and thinkers. The motivation and hope that drive elites to bring about change in the country represent a blazing torch that I have been following closely and from afar for years and decades; and witnessing the great movement that brings hope to the elites and the scientific progress in the country, and the manifestations of this movement in achieving consecutive victories year after year in the scientific disciplines and Olympiads and sports fields, fills the Iranian people with pride and honor.

The brilliant ranks that our steadfast athletes have achieved in various sports over the recent days and months, along with their establishment of new world records, reflect their diligent pursuit and will and faith. These athletes, with their physical strength, spiritual and moral resilience, and unwavering dedication, enhance the prestige of dear Iran in the eyes of all nations, and reveal to the entire world the vitality of the spirited Iranian people; as do the female athletes who shine globally, representing the honorable symbol of the Iranian woman. The winners of sports medals bring joy and enthusiasm to the hearts of the Iranian people and bestow greater pride upon the majestic banner of Islamic Iran; each one of them contributes, to the extent of their efforts, to infusing meaning into the concept of "a strong Iran," and plays an influential role in embodying it.
Since these days witness increased activity and interest in science and research in universities, religious seminaries, and schools, I find it appropriate to speak briefly on this subject to the lovers of knowledge, the elites of the people, and the thinkers of dear Iran.

Elitism is a divine blessing and gift, its foundation being talent and mental ability, and the Iranian people, especially the youth of our country, have been bestowed with this great divine blessing. It is a duty of the mind and servitude to express proper gratitude for this divine blessing; if gratitude is achieved at all its levels, heart, tongue, and action, pathways will be prepared for reaching the perfection of the blessing; furthermore, the appreciation of the blessing of elitism should begin with the elite individual themselves, then extend in subsequent stages to those around them, including parents, family, teachers, and mentors, reaching the school, university, and the national system, contributing to the development of this ability and enhancing its proper usage. Based on this, the elite person bears a significant responsibility to practically give thanks for this blessing, as they should, alongside developing their abilities and elitism, utilize this talent in the best way to solve the country's and society’s issues.

An elite person is not one who relies solely on possessing notable talent and mental readiness, then considers themselves a separate being from others, thinking only of their fleeting personal desires; rather, an elite person is one who cares about developing their talent, defines themselves as an active element in society, and employs their talent and energy for both their own advancement and that of their community simultaneously. The Iranian elites have proven that it is possible to transform knowledge and talent into tangible tools for addressing the problems of people and the nation, while striving for practical application of science and knowledge and one's elitism, from stem cells and nanotechnology and biotechnology to advanced technologies in aviation, space, industry, mining, medicine, agriculture, nuclear energy, and infrastructure. We all witness the effects of this growing movement and its manifestations in our daily lives. The production of electricity with Iranian turbines in power generation stations, the knowledge-based technology in desalination plants in the southern islands, the flight of agricultural drones over farms and orchards in northern rice fields to enhance agricultural processes, and the birth of children for families suffering from infertility through advanced "Royaan" techniques, diagnosing and treating chronic diseases with radioactive drugs, monitoring land, water, and crops using remote sensing satellites, and increasing productivity and food security through scientific and technological innovations are just examples that can be mentioned from this great and blessed group, along with many others, especially in defense and military fields, which have repeatedly dazzled the eyes of the world and will continue to do so in the future.

A strong Iran is rooted in the foundation of scientific and technical power, and this axis is among the most crucial elements of Iran’s presence and influence in the new global equations and formations. Therefore, the key to enhancing this power lies in surpassing the existing boundaries of knowledge and innovating solutions to scientific problems in the country. What the enemies of Islamic Iran commit in terms of malice and crimes against its scholars and elites reveals how much they are influenced by strengthening the country’s power. The enemy that assassinated our prominent scholars and influential elites within the community during the imposed wars, and certainly before those years within their scientific circles and their ordinary lives, cannot bear to see Iran’s progress and power, employing every tool and method at their disposal to weaken the elites of dear Iran; from sowing despair and frustration to controlling their minds and souls, swallowing them into the digestion of modern colonialism, and turning them into cogs in the machine of Western plunder and capitalism; however, they overlook that every drop of blood from the elites, scholars, professors, students, and martyr students from this people has stirred, and continues to stir a storm of will and progress.
