The General Authority for Meteorology announced today, Monday, the beginning of the impact of a rainy condition on the country starting from Tuesday evening, continuing for several days intermittently with varying intensities of rain and areas of impact, urging citizens to follow updates and avoid riverbeds and flooding.
The authority stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that Anbar Governorate will be the most in need of caution on Tuesday evening and night, with expectations of heavy rain, while the rain will gradually extend to other cities with light to moderate intensity, with a possibility of heavy rainfall at times.
It added that the weather activity will intensify on Wednesday evening and Thursday night with the formation of a local air front causing varying degrees of rainfall, which may be heavy and accompanied by lightning and thunder and gusty winds, with rain clouds extending to other areas during the night and the morning of Thursday.
The authority urged citizens to follow weather updates and avoid riverbeds, flooding, and low-lying areas, and to be cautious of gusty winds, lightning, thunder, and reduced visibility, noting that the details of the situation are subject to updates according to weather developments.
