A parliamentary source revealed today, Monday, that a verbal altercation occurred between Deputy Ahmed Shahid and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hibat al-Halbousi, during the parliamentary session held yesterday, Sunday, regarding the delay in sending the Popular Mobilization Law.

The source stated in a press interview seen by the "News Video Agency" that "the disagreement arose when Deputy Ahmed Shahid attempted to speak about the delay in sending the Popular Mobilization Law draft, but he was not granted the opportunity to intervene, which led to a verbal altercation with the Speaker of the Council."

The source added that "the altercation coincided with the atmosphere of the session and ended with its adjournment, without any additional details regarding what transpired between the two parties or when the council's work would resume."

Member of the House of Representatives Rafiq Al-Salhi called on the government to expedite sending the Popular Mobilization Law draft and referring it to Parliament, emphasizing that the enactment of this law represents a national and moral obligation that cannot be postponed, in appreciation of the tremendous sacrifices made by the heroes of the Popular Mobilization in defending Iraq's unity and sovereignty.
