Former Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim warned of what he called a "ticking bomb that could explode at any moment," should efforts to reach a solution to halt the ongoing war in the region fail to include a clear and explicit agreement.
He wrote on his account on the platform X on Monday: "There are now reports indicating activities and efforts being made to reach a solution that puts an end to the ongoing war in our region between Iran on one side and America and Israel on the other, and the resulting tensions from this war are increasing in danger day by day."
He continued: "I hope these efforts bear fruit and culminate, as I have repeatedly said, in a clear and explicit agreement, and not a temporary agreement or ceasefire."
He added that "temporary ceasefires do not achieve the desired goal and only lead to escalated tension, which may turn into a ticking bomb that could explode at any moment. I hope that rationality and realism prevail, and that the interests of the region are prioritized over immediate interests, and that the countries in our region realize that they are the ones concerned with the solution, and they are the first to be affected by the ongoing tensions and the outbreak of wars."
