The Ministry of Agriculture announced today, Saturday, that it will provide facilities for the private sector to support poultry projects and increase egg production, emphasizing that local production is around 6 billion eggs annually, compared to the country's need for 9 billion eggs to achieve self-sufficiency.
The ministry's spokesperson, Qusai Al-Hattab, stated in a press interview reviewed by the "Video News Agency" that Iraq has large projects for poultry production in several provinces, including projects at the Hussaini and Abbasid shrines, as well as projects in Diwaniya, Anbar, and Karbala, in addition to other projects distributed across the country.
He added that the ministry is working to support the private sector by facilitating the entry of feed, renewing project licenses, and streamlining administrative procedures, pointing out the ongoing coordination with project owners to increase local production, enhance food security, and achieve market balance.
