The website of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran reported today, Saturday, that the Supreme Leader, Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei, met with senior leaders of the country’s armed forces and issued them strategic directives.
During his meeting with the senior leaders of the armed forces, Mr. Khamenei stated that conscious combat readiness to face enemies with strength and capability is one of the requirements for achieving the highest levels of deterrence. He directed that every level of threat, regardless of its type, should be met with an immediate and effective response, without any geographical restrictions.
He affirmed that if the enemies resume their military or terrorist attacks, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian people will determine the timing and conditions for the end of those attacks.
He also emphasized enhancing military intelligence structures, deepening independent national defense in the areas of "doctrine" and "tactics," and developing defensive and security capabilities to keep pace with developments, by utilizing modern technologies, as well as strengthening the moral structure and jihadist spirit, alongside continuous efforts to secure the living needs of the armed forces and provide them with necessary support.
In another aspect of the Supreme Commander’s directives, it was decided to update the target bank in a way that allows for placing various types of American-Zionist material and non-material assets in the crosshairs of the armed forces' fire.
He pointed out that popular support for the armed forces is one of the cornerstones of deterrence against hostile foreign powers and their mercenaries within, explaining that the continuous presence of the people who answered the call over the course of eight months in the squares and fields represents an extension of the sacred defense that lasted eight years, which, alongside the resilience of the military and security forces and mobilization forces, protected the territorial integrity of Iran and the Islamic system, and will continue to protect them.
Mr. Khamenei praised the resilience of the conscious resistance front and its steadfastness in various countries, noting that "unity of the arenas" represents a decisive variable with strategic impact in shaping the features of the new political and security system in West Asia. He expressed hope that this new system would provide a foundation for strengthening the unity of the peoples of Islamic countries and their governments, paving the way for the establishment of a new Islamic civilization.
During the meeting, reports were presented to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces by General Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Hatami, Commander of the Army, and General Vahidi, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, addressing the level of readiness and preparedness of the defenders of the country on the shores of the Persian Gulf, in the operational areas of the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, and along the northwestern and southeastern borders of the country. They also presented a report on the multiple increases in the production of various types of munitions and weapons designated for reconnaissance, support, and combat operations.
Mr. Khamenei expressed his satisfaction with the activities and efforts made, and requested the senior military leaders to convey his greetings, thanks, and satisfaction with their performance to all members of the military and security forces, mobilization forces, and workers in these institutions and the Ministry of Defense, as well as to their noble families.
