The Ministry of Interior confirms that crime rates have dropped to the lowest level since 2003.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed today, Monday, that true security success is measured by preventing crime from occurring in advance and the swift detection of it if it does occur, noting that the crime rate in the country has reached its lowest point since 2003 to date.

The Director of the Relations and Media Department at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Muqdad Meiri, stated in a press interview reported by "Video News Agency" that "the main and primary role of the ministry is to take precautionary measures that prevent crimes from occurring, as it primarily aims to limit them to achieve normal rates that do not disturb public opinion or paralyze daily life," pointing out that "as a result of this work, the crime rate in Iraq has dropped to its lowest levels currently since 2003."

Major General Meiri added that "Iraq and Baghdad are witnessing significant security stability, allowing citizens to move freely and safely from Al-Faw and Basra to Zakho," clarifying that "the main responsibility of the Ministry of Interior is focused on securing and protecting the lives and properties of citizens across the nation, starting from the zero line on the borders to police stations in all cities."
