The Prime Minister of Iraq, Ali Fadhil Al-Zaydi, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, today (Monday) at the Élysée Palace in Paris, witnessed the signing of six memoranda of understanding between Iraq and France in various fields and joint sectors.
Al-Zaydi's office stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the signing included a letter of intent between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and Hermitan AI Company regarding strategic cooperation in the field of air defense, and a letter of intent between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces concerning securing French military equipment as part of the reconstruction and development of defense capabilities.
The statement clarified that the memoranda included a letter of intent for partnership in enhancing opportunities for youth, research, and innovation between the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its French counterpart, as well as another letter of intent between the two ministries regarding strengthening partnership with the French Development Agency.
The statement continued that the ceremonies witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol for the supply and sale of gas between the Ministry of Electricity and Total Energies, in addition to a letter of intent for cooperation in the field of civil aviation between the Iraqi and French Ministries of Transport.
