Al-Waeli instructs to tighten control and activate intelligence efforts at border crossings.

The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, today, Monday, at the Shalamcheh border crossing, directed the security and intelligence agencies to activate their role and enhance their presence in the customs inspection and trade exchange areas.

The authority stated in a statement it received that Al-Waeli stressed the need to monitor the prevention of the entry of banned materials and drugs and hold the relevant parties legally responsible for any violations or illegal crossings, emphasizing the obligation for security agencies to submit periodic reports to the port director in his capacity as head of the intelligence cell.

The statement clarified that the directives included conducting a thorough inspection of all incoming goods without exception and matching actual loads with customs declarations.

The statement affirmed the prohibition of any truck from passing before completing the movement process and fulfilling all necessary customs inspection procedures.
