The Electricity Department discusses with the European Bank the future skills and specialties needs of the sector.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity for Production, Mohammed Al-Tufaili, discussed today, Monday, with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development the current and future needs of the electricity sector in terms of skills and technical and engineering specialties, as part of a study aimed at developing human capital and equal opportunities in the infrastructure sectors in Iraq.

The ministry stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the meeting reviewed the work requirements in the fields of energy generation, transmission, and distribution, the expansion of renewable and photovoltaic energy projects, energy efficiency, in addition to updating networks and digital systems and automation.

The ministry indicated that the meeting addressed technological transformations and their implications for future specialties and professions in the electricity sector, while emphasizing the importance of developing training and qualification programs and skill development.

It continued that the two sides discussed enhancing the exchange of experiences to raise the readiness of engineering and technical personnel to implement future projects efficiently and sustainably.
