The teams Nuruz and Al-Nafit achieved victories over Al-Jawlan and Karbala, respectively, on Monday evening, in the seventh round of the Iraqi Premier League.
The Nuruz team won against their hosts Al-Jawlan with a score of 2-0.
The match kicked off at 6:45 PM at the Al-Jawlan Club Stadium in Ramadi.
The first half ended with Nuruz leading by one goal in the 38th minute, scored by player Neto Okara.
In the second half, Nuruz added their second goal from a penalty converted by Brazilian player Neto Okara in the 73rd minute.
The match saw the sending off of Al-Jawlan player Mohammed Jassim in the 72nd minute due to accumulated cards, leaving Al-Jawlan to finish the match with ten players.
With this victory, Nuruz increased their points to 11, placing them in fifth position, while Al-Jawlan's points remained at nine in the eighth position.
Additionally, Al-Nafit won against their guest team Karbala with a score of 2-1.
The match took place at the same time at the Captain Sharar Haider Stadium in Baghdad.
The first half ended in a goalless draw. The half witnessed the sending off of Karbala player Mohammed Al-Baqir Abd in the 32nd minute, leaving Karbala to complete the match with ten players.
In the second half, Al-Nafit managed to score their first goal from a penalty successfully taken by player Hossam Malik in the 67th minute. Karbala equalized in the 83rd minute through Ali Khaled, and in a dramatic ending, in the 90+4 minute, Al-Nafit scored the winning goal through foreign player Collins Obari.
With this victory, Al-Nafit raised their points to 12, taking fourth place, while Karbala's points remained at 5 in 19th place.
