The Iraqi Air Force football team began its continental journey this evening, Monday, with a loss to its host Neftchi Fergana of Uzbekistan, with a score of one goal to none, in the first round of the group stage of the AFC Champions League.
The match started at 4:45 PM Baghdad time, at the Independence Stadium in the city of Fergana, located in eastern Uzbekistan.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, while the score remained unchanged in the second half until the 83rd minute, when Neftchi scored the only goal of the match through their player Zoran Marusic.
With this loss, the "Falcons" began their campaign in the continental tournament without points, awaiting the completion of the league stage in the upcoming rounds.
