The commander of the Border Guard Forces in Khuzestan province, Brigadier General Hojjat Safid Boost, confirmed that the Iranian and Iraqi border guards are positioned on the front lines to ensure sustainable security, emphasizing that close coordination between these forces plays a pivotal role in mitigating threats, countering illegal crossings, smuggling, and sabotage activities.
In a meeting with the commander of the third Iraqi border region, Major General Abd al-Sada Niruz Yasin, at the Jazaba border crossing (southwest of the country), the commander of the border guards in Khuzestan highlighted the importance of enhancing security coordination.
He expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and good neighborliness demonstrated by the border guards in the third Iraqi region, considering this approach a clear indicator of the depth of relations, mutual trust, and brotherly bonds between the two countries.
Brigadier General Safid Boost pointed out the historical, cultural, religious, and social commonalities between the two peoples, stating that the relations between Iran and Iraq extend beyond formal and administrative frameworks, having roots in deep popular ties, which amplifies the shared responsibility of both countries to maintain the security and stability of the region.
He emphasized the security interconnectedness between the two countries, saying: "We consider the security of Iraq as our own security, as they are directly linked and indivisible; any disruption to security on the shared borders is a threat to both peoples and can only be addressed through honest and ongoing cooperation."
For his part, the commander of the third Iraqi border region expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality that the Iraqi delegation received from the border guards in Khuzestan, describing the relations between the two countries as strategic and based on brotherhood, affirming that the security of the Iranian and Iraqi borders complements each other, and that any enhancement of border cooperation directly contributes to the stability and security of both countries.
Major General Niruz Yasin added that the Iraqi border guard leadership is fully prepared to maintain and enhance bilateral cooperation to the highest levels through continued coordination, exchange of experiences, and operational coordination.
