Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated today, Wednesday, that the "sustainability of security" in the Gulf is contingent upon the countries in the region taking responsibility for its preservation.
In a message on the occasion of World Maritime Day, which was reviewed by the "News Video Agency," Pezeshkian emphasized the special significance of the Strait of Hormuz for the security and economy of the region and the world, highlighting the necessity of adopting a responsible vision based on maintaining the stability and interests of the countries in the region, according to the Iranian news agency "IRNA."
He stated that "the sustainable security of the Gulf and its waterways depends on the cooperation of the countries in the region and their assumption of responsibilities."
He pointed out that "the sea for Iran is not just a body of water, but a divine gift, an integral part of the history of this land, its identity, and its life, and one of the most important energies for the present and future of the country."
The President added that "gaining a deeper understanding of the seas, developing modern technologies, enhancing maritime safety standards, investing in marine energy resources, and protecting marine ecosystems are a real investment in the future of the country and the coming generations."
In reference to the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz for the security and economy of the region and the world, Bezzakian stressed the need to adopt a responsible vision based on preserving the stability and interests of the countries in the region.
He emphasized that "the sustainable security of the Gulf and its waterways hinges on the cooperation of the countries in the region and their assumption of responsibilities."
