Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed on Thursday that the security of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Arab states is interconnected, stressing his country's rejection of any threat to the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its borders, or to the security of the Red Sea and international maritime passages.
During a celebration at the Police Academy for the 2026 graduates in New Cairo, El-Sisi stated that the geopolitical changes in the region are significant and profound, and they will have regional repercussions. He emphasized that Egypt and Saudi Arabia represent the heart of the Arab and Islamic nations, and that any harm to one will reflect on the other, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.
He added that targeting Saudi Arabia affects Arab and Egyptian national security, stressing that Egypt's priorities lie in maintaining the Kingdom's security and stability and reducing escalation.
On regional issues, El-Sisi pointed out the dangers facing Egypt's southern and western borders, explaining that his country has made efforts to avoid the outbreak of a conflict in Sudan, and confirming that the stability of Sudan, Libya, and the Gaza Strip is essential for Egyptian and Arab national security.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, the Egyptian president stated that he has confirmed, during his meetings and communications with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since 2014, that establishing a Palestinian state is beneficial for all and contributes to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
On the internal front, El-Sisi mentioned the volume of work and achievements accomplished in Egypt since 2014, saying it would have taken more than thirty years to achieve, and he affirmed that he will continue to work until his last day in power, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.
