As part of enhancing academic cooperation and cultural exchange between educational institutions, the Arabic Language Department at the Mustansiriya University College of Arts, in collaboration with the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Kharazmi University in Iran, organized the fourth joint international conference on narrative, titled "Narrative and Interdisciplinary Studies".
The holding of this conference comes as part of the academic agreement signed between the two universities, focusing its scientific sessions on linking the humanities, such as psychology, sociology, philosophy, and anthropology, to issues of narrative, storytelling, and literature, with extensive participation from distinguished researchers and academics from various countries around the world.
To discuss the details of this scientific event, Dr. Jasim Muhammad Al-Abbud, the administrative assistant to the president of Mustansiriya University, confirmed that the holding of this international conference was one of the fruits of the agreement signed by the university president during his visit to Iran.
Al-Abbud told the video news agency that the conference is a qualitative event that has regained its activity through the efforts of the Dean of the College of Arts. Al-Abbud added that the extensive participation of researchers from various countries has given the conference an international character, noting the importance of linking it between multiple humanities disciplines and employing them in narrative issues, which serves the scientific journey of the university and enhances its international standing, especially after Mustansiriya received a five-star rating in quality assurance criteria at both local and international levels.
For his part, Dr. Ali Asoudi, an associate professor in the Arabic Department at Kharazmi University, expressed the Iranian delegation's happiness to be present at this joint scientific forum during their second visit to the prestigious Mustansiriya University.
Asoudi told the video news agency that the cultural and scientific interaction between the two universities has opened new horizons reflected in the activation of the conference's works. He indicated that this activity serves as a clear evidence of genuine interaction and transforming agreements from mere written texts into tangible reality, emphasizing that holding joint conferences and activating scientific activities such as journals and mutual research would highlight the growing features of scientific integration between Iraq and Iran before the world.
In this context, Dr. Basim Saleh Hamid, head of the Arabic Department at Mustansiriya University, emphasized the exceptional nature of this year's fourth narrative conference, due to the direct communication and cooperation between the two colleges of arts at the universities.
Hamid explained to the video news agency that the sessions witnessed active attendance from the university's guests from Iran, noting that the next version of the conference would be hosted by Kharazmi University, indicating that this cooperation goes beyond the academic framework to form a bridge for communication and rapprochement between two peoples and civilizations, and to stay abreast of the latest developments in the fields of narrative and interdisciplinary studies at the global level.
