The National Security Agency dismantled two human trafficking networks today, Thursday, and thwarted two operations involving the sale of two newborn babies in the provinces of Baghdad and Dhi Qar.

The agency stated in a message received by the news agency Video that these operations were based on accurate intelligence and field monitoring, and after obtaining the necessary judicial approvals.

It added that in Dhi Qar province, it arrested four suspects in the act after setting up a tight ambush during the delivery of a one-day-old baby and the receipt of payment for him.

The statement continued that the agency carried out another specialized operation in the capital Baghdad, which resulted in the arrest of a network made up of five suspects, including licensed midwives, caught in the act while attempting to sell a one-day-old baby.

It clarified that all the suspects were handed over to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal actions against them.
