The Rasafa Criminal Court specialized in integrity cases issued a six-year prison sentence today, Thursday, against an employee working as a cashier at the Rafidain Bank for embezzling funds.

The Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the news agency that the convict manipulated the accounts of individual savings customers by seizing and embezzling funds from their balances, exploiting his position as a cashier.

It added that the ruling was issued against him based on the provisions of Article 315, second paragraph, of the Penal Code, noting that the court obligated the convict to return the embezzled funds.
