The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, emphasized today, Monday, the importance of enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces, continuing efforts aimed at establishing security and stability, protecting Iraq's sovereignty, and supporting the military institution to carry out its national duties, which enhances the country's ability to confront security challenges and protect citizens across the country.
The Office of the Head of the State of Law Coalition stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that al-Maliki received the new Minister of Defense, Naif al-Shammari, and congratulated him on gaining the confidence of the House of Representatives.
For his part, al-Shammari expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Nouri al-Maliki, affirming the importance of national efforts and supporting the armed forces, and continuing to work to enhance security and stability and protect Iraq and its sovereignty.
