Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed on Monday that his country is ready to assist in finding acceptable solutions to the U.S.-Iran conflict, while calling for direct dialogue in the region involving Iraq.

Lavrov stated, following talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, which were reported by the "Video News Agency", "We have analyzed the situation resulting from the unjustified U.S.-Israeli aggression against Iran, and we reiterated Russia's readiness to help find mutually acceptable solutions for both parties to emerge from this manufactured crisis."

Lavrov emphasized that it is essential to give the coastal states (of the Gulf) the final say in determining ways to ensure the safe development of this strategically vital region of the world, affirming that Russia's concept of security in the Gulf aims to create conditions for direct dialogue between Gulf states and their neighbors like Iraq and Jordan.

Lavrov had previously confirmed that Moscow views the "concept of ensuring collective security in the Gulf" as a contribution to settlement and the creation of conditions for direct dialogue among countries in the region.
