The Minister of Youth and Sports, Safaa Al-Kinani, confirmed today, Monday, the holding of the Gulf Championship 28 in the capital Baghdad.
Al-Kinani stated in a discussion with several media outlets, followed by the "News Video Agency", that "an agreement was reached with the president of the Iraq Football Association, Younis Mahmoud, which included two issues. The first is the formation of a joint committee between the ministry and the association regarding the lands allocated for the association, and I have agreed with the senior staff in the ministry to simplify procedures and proceed with everything that serves the association."
He noted that "the second issue involved agreeing to approach the Prime Minister regarding the rental of stadiums and the programs and events specific to the Football Association, and working to overcome all obstacles related to that."
He added: "We have great hope in the Prime Minister to support these directions, especially the sports ones."
