The Interior Ministry confirms to the American chargé d'affaires its readiness to manage the security of Baghdad and the provinces.

Interior Minister Yasser Sakhel al-Maliki confirmed today, Monday, the ministry's readiness to take over the security file in the capital Baghdad and other provinces.

The media office of the Interior Minister stated in a statement received by "Al-Fadho News Agency" that “Minister al-Maliki received the American ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Fagin, and the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and mutual coordination in security areas.”

The statement added that “al-Maliki affirmed the ministry's readiness to take over the security file in the capital Baghdad and other provinces, emphasizing the reliance on a scientific approach and well-thought-out planning in managing security operations to ensure improved performance and solidify the foundations of stability.”

For his part, the American ambassador, according to the statement, confirmed his country’s support for the Ministry of Interior in the fields of training, qualification, and logistical support, which contributes to enhancing the readiness of internal security forces and strengthening their capabilities to face challenges.
