The Licensing Committee of the Iraqi Football Federation voted on the files of clubs applying for the license to participate in the Iraqi Premier League for the 2026-2027 season, while the Appeal Licensing Committee began its work to receive requests from the objection clubs.
The head of the Licensing Committee, Mohammed Qahtan, stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that "the committee held an extensive meeting during which all files were discussed, before voting to grant full licenses to the clubs that fully met the licensing requirements."
He added that "the committee granted licenses to several clubs with a warning and notice of the need to complete some requirements, while deciding not to grant licenses to Al-Student, Al-Jawlan, and Diyala clubs due to not meeting the financial criteria."
Qahtan pointed out that "the clubs that did not obtain a license can submit appeals within a maximum period of 48 hours to the Appeal Licensing Committee, which began its work immediately after the conclusion of the Licensing Committee meeting.
