The Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri, approved today, Monday, the regulations for calculating scientific ranks for employees of the ministry holding higher degrees for promotion purposes only, directing the general directorates to verify the eligible cases and correct them according to the applicable legislation.
The ministry stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the regulations specify the calculation mechanism based on the employee's status, whether they obtained their degree during a study leave inside Iraq or abroad, or while employed, in addition to cases of spousal accompaniment, new appointments, and the relatives of martyrs, in accordance with the adopted legislation and official letters.
It added that committees will be formed in the general directorates, under the follow-up and supervision of the Ministry's Undersecretary for Scientific Affairs, with the membership of the heads of promotion units, which will be responsible for auditing academic titles and correcting the eligible cases, with the relevant parties bearing legal responsibility for the accuracy and validity of the procedures.
