The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of two employees in the Maysan Traffic Department who manipulated 40 receipts for vehicle plate fees.
The Commission stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that "a team formed in the Maysan Investigation Office moved to the traffic directorate in the governorate to investigate and gather information about suspected manipulation and waste of public funds in the directorate," clarifying that "the investigation and inquiry led to the arrest of two employees in the vehicle registration and driving licenses center, for their involvement in manipulating receipts for vehicle and heavy machinery plate fees and placing the plates outside the center, in clear violation of instructions and regulations."
It added that "manipulation was discovered in the receipts for 40 plate registration requests," pointing out that "the accused attached the plates outside the center, despite the absence of any administrative orders issued by the Maysan Traffic Directorate or instructions permitting that."
It highlighted the "decision of the investigating judge specialized in integrity cases in Maysan, who decided to detain the accused and conduct an investigation according to the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code."
