The Dhi Qar Provincial Council announced today, Tuesday, the acceptance of the resignation of Governor Haitham al-Hamdani, which he submitted for health reasons.
A reporter from the Video News Agency said that "the Dhi Qar Provincial Council held a session today, Tuesday, during which a vote was taken to accept the resignation of Governor Haitham al-Hamdani," noting that "al-Hamdani submitted his resignation from his position for health reasons."
He added that "the provincial council decided to postpone its session until one o'clock in the afternoon to complete the procedures and elect a new governor for the province."
In the same context, the National Wisdom Movement nominated Haider Ghani Al-Hussainawi to take over the position of Governor of Dhi Qar, succeeding al-Hamdani.
