The lost security in Syria: Tensions and clashes in Sweida.

The Druze internal security forces responded today, Monday, to an attack by groups affiliated with Jolan that attempted to assault security points in the countryside of Suwayda, resulting in the injury of two security personnel during the confrontation amidst deteriorating security conditions.

Syrian media outlets reported, in a story reviewed by the Video News Agency, that the attacking groups targeted the village of Mansoura in the Suwayda countryside with drones.

For its part, the National Guard command confirmed that the Jolan government forces fired mortar shells and bursts from a 23mm machine gun towards the western axis of the city of Suwayda, causing an injury to a child from shrapnel, noting that the shelling targeted residential neighborhoods at 7:30 PM.

It continued that the positions stationed on the axis dealt with the sources of gunfire, describing the shelling as random aggression and affirming that it would not go unanswered to ensure the security of the region and the safety of its residents, while the Druze community seeks to obtain autonomy in rejection of the authority of the central government led by Ahmad al-Shara, known as "Jolan."
