Baghdad and Tehran discuss the repercussions of the Saudi attack and the future of border crossings.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed today, Saturday, with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, the attack targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with the measures taken in response, and mutual regional files.
The Foreign Ministry mentioned in a statement that Hussein received a phone call from Araghchi, during which they discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran, as well as the measures related to the closure of several border crossings, the reasons for these actions, and ways to address their repercussions.
The statement added that the two sides discussed the attack targeting Saudi Arabia and the measures taken in this regard, in addition to the work of the joint committee formed to investigate the circumstances of the attack.
The call also covered the upcoming meeting scheduled to be held in the Sultanate of Oman with the participation of the eight neighboring countries, which include the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Iraq, and Iran, to discuss issues related to the Strait of Hormuz.
The Foreign Minister emphasized Iraq's support for holding the meeting, pointing out that an Iraqi delegation will participate in its activities, reflecting Baghdad's approach to supporting dialogue and regional coordination regarding the security of navigation and energy in the region.
On the regional file, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the situation in Yemen, stressing the importance of addressing outstanding issues through dialogue and negotiations, which contributes to reducing tension levels and enhancing security and stability in the region.
