The president of the Basra football sub-union, Badr Nasser Al-Badr, confirmed today, Sunday, that the logistical and organizational preparations for hosting the match between Iran's Esteghlal Tehran and Qatar's Al-Sadd, as part of the elite AFC Champions League, are complete.
Al-Badr stated that the Basra International Stadium, which will host the match, along with training fields and halls, has been fully prepared, indicating that the Iranian team will begin its training in Basra today in preparation for the anticipated match.
He added that all arrangements were completed in coordination with the Basra Governorate, the Youth and Sports Directorate, the management of Basra International Stadium, security forces, and supporting institutions, ensuring the provision of necessary requirements for the success of the match.
Al-Badr noted that the preparations included securing accommodation for the Esteghlal Tehran delegation and transportation means, in addition to equipping the training fields and the match stadium, confirming that all the team's needs have been met during their stay in the governorate.
He pointed out that the Esteghlal Tehran delegation was welcomed by several sports and official figures in Basra, as part of the effort to welcome the guest delegation and the governorate's commitment to ensuring their successful participation in the Asian championship.
The Esteghlal Tehran delegation arrived at Basra International Airport yesterday, Saturday, where they were greeted by the president of the Basra football sub-union, union members, and several official and sports figures.
Esteghlal Tehran will face Al-Sadd on Monday, tomorrow, at the Basra International Stadium, as part of the elite AFC Champions League.
