Iranian President Masood Pezeshkian confirmed today, Wednesday, that his country defends itself and its people who have been subjected to aggression, rejecting the description made by Trump labeling them as terrorists and affirming that Iran is a victim of terrorism.
Pezeshkian stated in a speech delivered before the United Nations General Assembly in New York, followed by the News Video Agency, that the United States targeted leaders and scholars and killed innocent children in schools, pointing out that the supreme leader was assassinated without any legal framework or reason, in addition to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh during his election and swearing-in as president.
He added that America and Israel attacked his country with the latest technologies and weapons systems, yet the innocent Iranian people stood firm and defended themselves vigorously against cowardly assaults, noting what happened in Gaza where more than 70,000 martyrs fell at the hands of the real terrorists.
He affirmed that Iran does not seek to achieve its security at the expense of others, and that nuclear energy is part of scientific progress for peaceful purposes and should not remain exclusive, emphasizing that no one will be allowed to move freely in the Strait of Hormuz to launch operations against his country.
