The Prime Minister, Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi, and the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced their joint intention to deepen security cooperation and expand the size of trade and investment today, Wednesday, following their meeting in New York.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the two sides agreed to fully establish the authority of the Iraqi state in Sinjar and to end the presence of banned foreign armed elements, in addition to the gradual handover of the Turkish forces at the Bashiqa-Zilkan camp to the Iraqi federal government according to the agreed mechanism and timeline.
The statement added that the agreement also included expanding the size of bilateral trade and investment, the immediate implementation of signed agreements, and accelerating joint strategic projects, particularly the Development Road project.
