The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faik Zidan, congratulated the Iraqis today, Wednesday, (September 30, 2026), on the occasion of "National Sovereignty Day," emphasizing that it is an inspiring milestone for consolidating the state's sovereignty and the independence of its national decision.
Zidan stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency, "With the sincerest congratulations and best blessings, we extend our greetings to the honorable Iraqi people on the occasion of National Sovereignty Day, which falls on the thirtieth of September."
He added, "This occasion is an inspiring national milestone in the journey of consolidating the state's sovereignty, the independence of the national decision, and reaffirming the commitment to respecting the constitution and the rule of law, which guarantees the protection of rights and freedoms, and preserves the interests of the state and society."
He continued, "We ask Allah to protect Iraq and its people, to sustain security and stability, mercy and eternal peace for the honorable martyrs, a speedy recovery for the wounded, and success for the fighters from all ranks, by whom this national victory was achieved."
He concluded by saying, "Every year may Iraq and its people be in good health, security, and prosperity."
