The commander of the border forces, Major General Mohamed Abdel Wahab Sukar Al-Saeedi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq's sovereignty is a promise and responsibility characterized by the unity of its land and the independence of its decision.
Al-Saeedi said in a statement on the occasion of National Sovereignty Day, received by the Video News Agency, that "on the occasion of National Sovereignty Day, we extend our highest congratulations to the honorable Iraqi people, affirming that 'Iraq's sovereignty is not just an occasion to celebrate, but a promise and responsibility, marked by the unity of the land, the independence of the decision, and the preservation of the country's borders and dignity.'
He added, "On this occasion, we honor the martyrs of Iraq whose pure souls ascended in defense of its land and sovereignty, and we salute the heroic members of our security forces who stand firmly and sincerely to protect the country's security and resources."
He continued, "The men of the border forces, throughout Iraq's borders, will remain faithful to their oath, steadfast in their positions of honor, a formidable barrier against anyone who attempts to undermine our nation's sovereignty and the security of our people."
