Deputy Mokhtar Al-Moussawi confirmed on Monday that there is no final agreement to raise the exchange rate of the dollar to 150,000 dinars for every 100 dollars within the 2027 budget, noting that raising the exchange rate is very likely, but no specific rate has been agreed upon yet.

Al-Moussawi said in a press interview seen by "Video News Agency" that "Iraq is facing a severe financial and economic crisis, and this will lead to important changes in the features of the 2027 budget, which comes as the first budget after three years, and thus there are many important points that will be discussed."
He added that "one of the most prominent issues on the table is whether to maintain the exchange rate at its current level of 132,000 dinars for every 100 dollars, or raise it to 150,000 dinars or more. There are discussions and talks in this regard, but no specific price has been agreed upon yet."

He pointed out that "the available indicators so far indicate that raising the dollar exchange rate may be one of the features of the upcoming budget, amid the severe financial crisis that Iraq is experiencing, especially in light of the ongoing events in the region."
