Netanyahu: "Hamas will not rule Gaza"
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged during his participation in the memorial ceremony for the third anniversary of the deadly Hamas attacks on Monday that Hamas would not govern the Gaza Strip, threatening to continue targeting anyone involved in the attack or who took hostages in Gaza.
The unprecedented Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 resulted in the deaths of 1,221 people, according to official Israeli figures. Militants also took 251 hostages to Gaza, 44 of whom have since died.
Israel responded with a large-scale military campaign in Gaza, causing massive destruction and resulting in at least 74,200 deaths, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
The Israeli forces have killed 1,460 people in Gaza, according to the Health Ministry in the sector since the announcement of a ceasefire last October.
