The celebrations of the "Jama" holiday, one of the most prominent religious holidays for the Yazidi community, continue at the Lalish Temple in Dohuk Governorate. The holiday lasts for seven days, with a wide influx of attendees from various areas of Iraq and abroad to revive the religious and cultural heritage passed down through generations.
The media spokesperson for Lalish Temple, Luqman Suleiman, stated in a statement to the news video agency that around 100,000 Yazidis are expected to arrive at the temple during the seven days of the holiday, indicating that the event represents an opportunity for gathering, communication, and strengthening ties within the Yazidi community.
He added that the holiday festivities witness a significant attendance of Yazidis coming from both inside Iraq and abroad, reflecting the importance of Lalish Temple to the community and their connection to their religious and cultural heritage.
The "Jama" holiday is an annual occasion where members of the community come together.
